Travel Insurance

If you are one of those sceptical people who don’t believe that travel insurance is a worth while investment, maybe you should read up a bit more on the topic.  In the last year alone I have personally known of two families (people I know very well) were Travel Insurance has been a saving grace.  It has been a lesson for me as well because I have not really placed much value on Travel Insurance in the past.  In both cases the people involved required things like expensive air travel back home with qualified medical staff having to fly with them and in the one case a 12 year old had to be air lifted off a mountain top in some pretty extreme weather conditions.  Had they not been insured, it would have cost them a fortune and I dont believe that either family had the kind of money laying around to pay for those services at the time.

Pink Fridge offers some valuable advice for Travellers including Travel Insurance.  We also cover issues like Currency exchange and Security when travelling.

If you are going on a skiing holiday, I believe that Travel Insurance is a must.  Insurance is vital in my opinion because skiing is an extreme sport and the chances of being injured are much greater than if you are just going on a sight seeing or sun tanning holiday.  Don’t forget that normal Travel Insurance does not cover any extreme sport like skiing.  You must specify that you want to be covered for extreme sport.
