Book your Florida golf holiday online - UK - USA
Where else in the world could you find a tee box that doubles as a helicopter pad, a green that invites golfers to walk the plank, and a sand bunker that is so big it is a designated desert? It has to be America!
If you visit Florida and can find time in between Disney World, Universal Studios and Seaworld, not to mention the many restaurants, shopping centres, beaches and nightclubs, there are over 1,500 golf courses to choose from. Even Disney World plays host to 36 holes!!
Florida golf holidays are popular for so many reasons. The climate, hospitality and the various attractions outlined above need no further introduction. For many years Florida has been the USA’s number one holiday resort for these exact reasons. The 1,500 golf courses are less well known however and we hope to elaborate a little on a selection of them on ‘Touch Down, Tee Off’.
Of all these courses, the most famous is The Champion Course at the PGA National Club. The course has played host to many professional PGA events in the last 20 years and is a 'must play' for all visitors to the resort. It claims to have three of the hardest holes in the whole of America, so bring plenty of golf balls!
Despite the PGA National Course being so prestigious the handicap limits are 28 for men and 36 for women; so virtually anyone can sample its delights.
This is just one of a number of courses we have selected for you.
Although the flight time to Florida from the UK is a little longer than to many European resorts, it is certainly worth venturing a little further for those seasoned golf travellers.
In addition to this, if you want an active holiday where you can fit golf in around other things, then Florida offers more than you can possibly imagine.
