Agriculture - made famous by the quality of the Jersey Royal New Potatoes that are grown and sold there.

Beaches & Bays - there are only 30 beaches and bays, many with deep blue water and golden sand.
Climate - During the summer Jersey can be very hot, and tends to be quite mild in the winter.
Cigarettes - Cigarettes and other tobacco products are much cheaper than on the UK mainland.
Currency - Jersey has its own currency - including a pound note. You can exchange with English pounds for nothing, but you don't have to.
Eating Out - Jersey has more than 200 restaurants from French to seafood.
Horse-Riding - Five riding stables are in Jersey - and are OK for all levels of riders.
Hotels and Accommodation - Jersey Tourism inspects all hotels or guest houses capable of taking over 5 people, and rate them using between 1 and 5 sun symbols.
Lottery - The official lottery is held every two weeks, drawn by a computer called 'Super Fred'. Tickets are £1 each and the big prize has a minimum of £40,000.
Marina - there are some very expensive yachts in the St Helier marina. It's a lovely place for a walk on a Summer's evening.
Markets - In St Helier there are two main markets. The Victorian Central Market in Beresford Street offers fresh fruit, all kinds of meat and vegetables. The Fish Market is the other side of the street.
Museums - There are many superb museums, such as the Jersey Museum in St Helier and the Jersey Motor Museum in St Peter.
Nightclubs - Jersey has over 15 nightclubs open until around 2:30am all week.
Parliament - Known as the 'States', Jersey 's senators have their own parliament.
Population - Jersey 's population is about 90,000.
Public and Bank Holidays - In addition to normal holidays there is Liberation Day on 9th May and many businesses are closed on the second Thursday in August to commemorate the Battle of Flowers
Size - Jersey is 9 miles across and 5 miles from north to south.
Tides - Jersey has a very high tide and there are dramatic changes in the water levels every few hours.
V.A.T. - This doesn't exist in Jersey , and you should expect the VAT element of products to be properly deducted.
Zoo - Jersey zoo is very well known, particularly for its monkeys, and really worth a visit.
