Wedding Ring Sets - Bridal and Engagement Ring Sets

Wedding ring sets consist of two rings, either an engagement ring for a woman with a matching woman's wedding ring , or one wedding ring for the bride and a wedding ring for a man. The two rings usually have a similar pattern or design, and are made of the same metal and gemstones. One variation is to have a set containing a wedding and engagement ring with two bands which fit one band on either side of the engagement ring. These are called trio wedding ring sets.

In the case of a matching engagement ring with a wedding band, in some cases the wedding band may fit together with engagement ring (rather like a puzzle ring) to make one complete ring. The engagement ring usually has a larger gemstone on it and the wedding ring has smaller gemstones to complete the design. Many people find this arrangement much more convenient, finding it avoids a lot of the stress before the wedding with trying to find wedding rings they like. If you have already chosen an engagement ring you like, then buying the matching wedding band makes sense. The rings have to be carefully designed, so they can be worn both together on the same finger, or be worn on different fingers.

Diamond wedding ring sets are very popular, with the engagement ring having a large diamond and maybe smaller diamonds in a pattern which is continued on the wedding band. A cheaper alternative which may suit younger couples with less to money to burn would be to buy a cubic zirconia (cz) wedding ring set.

'His and hers' wedding ring sets

Wedding rings sets for men and woman consist of matching wedding rings, one for the bride and one for the groom. The tastes of both parties need to be taken into consideration when selecting a wedding ring set to please both of them. Wedding rings tend to be plain, simple bands, which makes it easier to find rings that appropriate for both the bride and the groom. The man's wedding ring is usually about 2mm wider than the woman's wedding ring to allow for the fact that men's fingers are thicker than women's, and can therefore carry off chunkier jewelry.

Trio wedding ring sets

Trio wedding ring sets are a set of three rings: one engagement ring and two matching wedding bands worn either side. Each piece can either be bought separately or together. This is helpful if the couple don't find wedding rings they like before the big day, or if they don't want to spend all the money on three rings at once and would rather wait and buy the wedding rings nearer the time. Buying two or three pieces of jewelry together is often slightly cheaper than trying to purchase two or three rings individually.
