Traditionally it was only women that had to wear a wedding ring, symbolizing that she was the property of her husband. However in these days of equality, men's wedding rings are becoming more and more common, and now men and women like to exchange rings at the altar. The trick is to find a ring that is comfortable and practical to wear all the time, not just on the wedding day. American men started wearing wedding rings during World War II as a reminder of their devotion to their wives at home.
