The classic thong provides a bit more, with a thicker strip of fabric and a triangular patch which sits at the base of your tailbone. The Melbourne Public Nudity Code was passed in January 2005, restricting the wearing of saucy swimwear. It is now illegal for those aged ten and over to bare their buttocks in public, and this includes beaches and public parks and office buildings (like you'd wear a thong to work!). Happily, you are still able to wear a thong in your backyard. Habitual thong-wearers can receive 60 days in prison or a $500 fine.
