The roots of cult beach brand Venus swimsuits lie deep in a southern body building company. In 1982 college senior Daryl Scott launched a brand of competitive body building attire, Titan, out of his Florida apartment.

People seemed to take to young Daryl’s mail order business – so well, in fact, that he also formed Venus Bodywear in 1984. Venus offered women’s workout gear via mail order, and in 1985 the company grew to incorporate a little offshoot called Venus Swimwear.

Mail order is the core business of Venus swimwear but the brand also sells their range wholesale to boutiques and surf shops. Venus has its own store operating in its hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. These days the all-American brand sells hundreds of swimsuits that are vibrant, vivid, and very versatile.
