Chanel sunglasses are a statement of elegance and style. The company is a leading designer from France who have been producing products of real quality for many decades. If you want to have a trendy and fashionable look this or any summer then you could do a lot worse than take a look at what Channel have to offer.
There are more than 15 modern and elegant sunglasses models, many of them in bright colours that add a true touch of liveliness and class. The sidepieces are decorated with the double interwoven ‘C’, which is the famous logo.
There are many different styles, including the ‘Superstar’ look with large rims along with large sidepieces. If you want to be able to play the star but still be anonymous without missing what is going around you, then these sunglasses could be perfect.
Another style of Chanel sunglasses is the ‘sporty’ style. These are panoramic mask-type sunglasses made of either injected plastic or metal, with the logo more discreetly placed than normal. The lenses and the frames contrast each other with bright colours, so you can have colour combinations like green and yellow, dark blue and orange and red and purple.
Chanel herself was born in 1883 and raised by her aunts in Auvergne, a French province. She was nicknamed “Coco” which stood for “little pet”. Her aunts taught her to sew as she grew up and in 1908 she became a hat designer, opening two boutiques in 1914, continuing to design simple and smart fashions in contrast to the ornate and frilly fashions of that day.
Many people say that it was the fabric shortages that existed in France at the time of the two World Wars that influenced Coco Chanel’s style. But Chanel herself said that she only designed items that she actually would wear.
During her time, she forged associations with the most visionary and creative artists of her time such as Picasso, Diaghilev, Cocteau and Stravinsky. She looked upon these artists as an inspiration, and they made her determined to break the accepted mold and invent new ways to express herself by creating fashions. She was even described by Cocteau as someone who had by some kind of miracle managed to use rules that used to only be of value to poets, musicians and painters and apply them to fashion.
Whilst Chanel made her fame through clothing, she insured her fame in 1923 with the introduction of her most famous perfume – Chanel No.5, which was the first time a perfume actually bore the name of a designer.
The Chanel name carries on now, and is perhaps just as famous. The Chanel suit is still worn, the perfume is too, and now you can wear the sunglasses.
