People also remember how Kate Moss was used to launch the company’s unisex perfume – cK one, which is now one of the nine lines of perfume in the Klein name.

Calvin Klein shocked the fashion world in 1999 when he announced that he was thinking about selling his eponymous fashion house. He was going to look at developing his company through either a sale, a merger, or a strategic alliance. The fashion house had a price of $1 billion put on it, and after talks with Tommy Hilfiger amongst others got nowhere he took it off the market.

Klein has won many industry awards, even winning the title of America’s Best Designer in 1993. He has been married to the photographer and socialite Kelly Klein and has one daughter called Marci. If you want to see his collection presented then you’ll find it during New York Fashion Week.
