It’s probably fair to say that the Steve Madden brand is relatively unknown in the UK. In the States, however, the footwear range is huge, both in terms of size and success, and could be argued as being the country’s best footwear designer of today.

All pretty impressive stuff, especially when you take into account the fact that the man behind the brand (yes, you guessed it…Steve Madden himself) set up the company less than 20 years ago with just over $1,000 of his own money.

One of the saving graces of the footwear range was the introduction of Madden’s famous platform shoe, which was launched just a year after the company started trading. The shoe was a total triumph, bringing a 1970’s classic bang up to date for the masses, and gave the brand instant recognition and respect.

Today, the range remains true to its beginnings and offers a jaw-droppingly delicious range of platforms, wedges, sandals, pumps, boots and sneakers. There is literally no shoe this company does not make…there’s even a clothing line and accessories range!
