Jane Shilton is a truly global brand, sourcing materials and selling its products worldwide. The company began life over seventy years ago in London and now produces a wide range of luxury shoes, bags and accessories.

Unlike many clothing and footwear lines that use women’s names as their brand title (we won’t name them, but we’re sure you can think of quite a few!), Jane Shilton was actually a real person. She was the wife and former secretary of the company’s founder, Alexander Shilton, who after returning home from war christened his handbag company in her name. Now that’s what we call a gesture of love!

The shoes collection is classy and stylish, ranging from comfortable loafers and cute ballerina slip-ons, to smart boots and strappy evening shoes. For once, our pick of the bunch is a flat shoe (we must be getting sensible in our old age!).

It’s the Sandy crossover sandal, which comes in silver polished leather with beautiful inter-woven straps. Although this is a casual shoe in that there’s no heel and it is comfortable to wear, it is by no means a boring shoe – quite the contrary in fact. The silver finish means you’ll be able to wear this day or night, and will give any outfit that an touch of glamour.
