Gucci was established in Florence, Italy, as a modest family saddlery and leather-goods manufacturer in 1921. Since then it has developed almost out of all recognition to become one of the world’s premier and most recognisable brand names. From the relatively humble beginnings of its iconic luxury goods sector in the 1940s and 1950s to its current ranking as a world leader in innovative fashion design, the Gucci name has come to encompass style, elegance, exclusivity and, more often than not, great expense.

Gucci manufactures many different styles of clothes and accessories, from belts, hats, scarves, ties and stationery to men’s, women’s and children’s ranges of clothing and footwear.

On the men’s side, Gucci manufactures everything from beautifully crafted black patent leather moccasins and lace-ups to coloured suede moccasins with the signature Gucci horsebit ornament, from rubber-soled lace-up boots to stylish sandals, flip flops, and suede sneakers. Colours are usually elegantly understated, with beige and camel tones mixing with off-white and gold. Heeled Gucci shoes tend to come with thin but not impractical three-inch heels. The classic range of women’s shoes is generally more sedate, but still very distinctive and beautifully designed, with pointed toes and exquisite leather uppers. The Gucci online shop requires you to know your shoe size according to the European sizing system (i.e. 40, 41, 42), so make sure you are sure about your size before confirming your order.
