The New West Perfume for women was created by Aramis in 1990, however since production ceased a few years ago, this has become a rare scent to find and, as a direct result of its discontinuation, is probably one of the most sought after perfumes around.

Whilst most designer perfumes are first launched as a female scent, and then released as a male fragrance later on, the New West range was conceived in the completely opposite way. The Aramis brand is fundamentally based around the design and production of scents for men, so taking the decision to launch a new line of fragrances for women was a brave one indeed. New West for men was created in 1988, and it was shortly after this the New West Perfume range for women hit the shelves.

It is said that New West Perfume is a sharp and aquatic scent. The ingredients for this fragrance were carefully selected to create a perfume that resembles the ocean breeze or is reminiscent of fresh summer rain. This fragrance has a well balanced blend of marigold, bergamot and hyacinth with noticeable tones of fresh melon. Oregano, thyme and basil add herbal notes to the scent, while jasmine, clove, rose, oak moss, patchouli and sandal wood give this scent a warm and deep aroma. On the whole, New West Perfume could be described as a clean and fresh scent ideal for the outdoor lifestyle.

New West is not the only women's fragrance to be created by Aramis. In fact, the Aramis label – which has actually been a division of Estée Lauder for nearly thirty years - has created many well known and classic scents for both men and women. In 1992, for example, it launched Tuscany Per Donna; a scent made up of a blend of mandarin, citrus and grapefruit. Notes of vanilla, spice, honeysuckle and carnation give it its oriental and woody aroma.

Another fragrance to be created by Aramis is the feminine and floral scent, Havana. This perfume was introduced to the market in 1995 and is made up of a unique blend of fresh flowers, creating a cheery but sensual aroma. Havana gives a sense of purity and well-being and is an ideal scent to wear for those casual, carefree days.
