The Eternity perfume and aftershave range was created by Calvin Klein in 1988. The fragrance, along with Klein’s other bold and beautiful scents like Escape, Obsession, Contradiction and CKOne, has become a household name across the globe and still remains a favourite with men and women fifteen years on.

Eternity for Women comprises a subtle blend of mandarin, marigold and white florals like white lily, which are lightly touched by amber and sandalwood. The overall result is a delicate and refreshing scent which is suitable for both daywear and evening wear. The Eternity perfume is also available in an eau de parfum spray or as a body lotion.

The Eternity aftershave balm and cologne range was released the following year. This proved just as popular as the female range, continuing to symbolise Klein’s vision of eternal and everlasting love. The men’s scent contained a spicy blend of basil, sandalwood, amber and jasmine with softer ingredients like lavender, rosewood and greens.

Over ten years on and The Design House of Calvin Klein was still producing wonderfully innovative perfumes onto the market. At the turn of the Millennium, the eastern-influenced Truth was launched. This signature fragrance is said to have been inspired by nature, with its luxurious, earthy aromas. Woody notes of wet woods and bamboo accompanied by white peony, sapling, sandalwood and white amber make this a warm and sensual perfume, but light and refreshing enough to be suitable for casual wear.

Calvin Klein was born in New York in November 1942. In 1973 he succeeded in becoming the youngest designer ever to receive the coveted Coty Award. He stunned industry peers by winning the award for the following two years in a row, and then again in 1982, 1983 and 1986. At the age of forty, Klein made history once more when he attended the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards. Not only did he win the award for design in women’s wear, but he also received the menswear prize too – the first designer to have achieved this feat. The following year he did the same, and incredibly managed to win back the title once more in 1986.
