Buses are divided into seating capacity, as below:

Trade licences are the same for all vehicles, at £160 per year apart from bicycles and tricycles, those which weigh less than 450 kgs, which have to pay £60 a year.

Light goods vehicles (those that weigh less than 3,501 kgs) are taxed at the 12 month rate of £160.00

As far as general haulage vehicles are concerned, those with reduced pollution changes only have to pay £160, whilst if these changes haven’t been made, the rate is £350.

Recovery vehicles are taxed according to their mileage. Those that travel over 3,500 a year but less than 25,000 will have to pay £165 a year, but it’s £410 for those travelling over 25,000 miles.

Private Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) that exceed 3,500 kgs in weight pay £165 per year.

As far as rigid and articulated goods vehicles are concerned, they are divided into rigid vehicles, trailer duty, two axled tractive unit articulated vehicles, three axled tractive unit articulated vehicles. The tables below denote bands, and the bands are associated with amount of money.
