HOMEMADE BABY SHOWER GIFTS and IDEAS

If you have a series of baby showers to attend and you don’t want to go broke buying gifts, homemade baby shower gifts can be an excellent option. Not only is a homemade gift less expensive but because of the personal touch it can also be one of the most treasured.

Here are a few ideas for making your own homemade shower gift:

HOMEMADE IDEAS FOR EXPECTING PARENTS

Cross Stitch – If you’re a dab hand with cross stitch, you could always have a piece of your work framed. The alphabet or the baby’s name can be a good choice for a design. If you decide to use the baby’s name, which might not be known at the time of the shower you can always present the parents with a copy of the pattern you plan to make.

Homemade Picture Frame: If you’re really into DIY you can make your own frame otherwise you can buy a cheap plain wooden or metal frame and then personalize it by attaching sea shells, miniature soft toys, or bows. Great for any baby shower!

Hand-painted Ceramic Pots: Paint and decorate several ceramic pots with pretty pastel baby colors and then fill them with baby supplies such as cotton balls and baby wipes etc.

Pamper the Mum-to-be-basket: Why not pamper the expectant-mum, after all she is the one who has been doing all the hard work carrying the baby. Select luxury items, such as skin care, soaps, a massage or facial voucher or you could include home-baked delicious cookies or sweets.

A Gift Certificate: This could include a dinner for two at a top restaurant and IOU for babysitting duty once the baby is born.

A Dream Catcher: You could make your own native American dream catcher, these are supposed to catch the baby’s bad dreams.

A Memory Box: You could use a cigar box size and decorate it with cute pictures to store memorabilia bits and pieces, such as hospital bracelets etc

Room Makeover: You could offer to makeover the room that is going to become the baby’s nursery. This may involve a new coat of paint or wall paper and perhaps new curtains and pictures for the wall.
