The wrinkle industry is big business as far as cosmetic companies are concerned, and each one will go to great lengths to push its new 'miraculous' anti-wrinkle face creams and treatments. But how do you know it is going to work for you?
Well, the first thing you need to think about is: how deep are your wrinkles? There are a number of stages to the wrinkling effect of the skin and certain creams are more suitable to each stage than others. For example, if you are in your twenties and are more concerned about preventing the signs of aging than actually treating the very fine lines that are starting to develop, then you'll be better opting for a light, every day anti wrinkle cream. Intensive night creams and deep treatments will probably be too heavy for your young skin and may well only result in blocked pores and blemishes.
For older, more wrinkled skin on the other hand, a rich cream is probably going have more of a visible effect that one of the light day creams that many anti wrinkle ranges include.
Your best bet is to ask the advise of the assistant at the cosmetics counter - if you explain that you are unsure about which cream to buy, you may well find that you are offered a free sample of a variety of different anti wrinkle treatments so you can decide in your own time which one suits your skin the best.
