Weight machines: Weight machines for the home are also known as home gyms and consist of a metal frame with at least one bench and a variety of weights. These are designed to provide the weight training opportunities of a gym in the home and can cost between £150 and £4,000.
Free weights: These are less expensive and more flexible than weight machines making them ideal for a home gym. Free weights use more muscles but machines have more controlled movements. It would be worthwhile getting the advice of a professional when using free weights. Prices tend to can range from as little as £10 for a dumbbell to £300 for a dumbbell rack.
