Zantrex-3 is the latest in the Zantrex family of weight-loss supplements, and is marketed by manufacturers as a diet and energy pill. While relatively new to the diet pill market in the wake of the ephedra scare, Zantrex has shot up in popularity after it was found that pop-princess Britney Spears used the product to help maintain her weight.

It contains a high-caffeine (xantrine) mixture of: yerba mate, caffeine, guarana, damiana, schizonepeta, green tea, peper nigum, teibetan ginseng, panax ginseng, maca root, cocoa nut, kola nut, thea sinensis complex, rice flour. These ingredients combined make a potent cocktail which, due to its extremely high levels of caffeine (each dose of two capsules is equal to drinking three cups of coffee), gives users a boost in energy, helping to burn off extra calories. Manufacturers claim that in studies, users had an average weight loss of 11.2 pounds in a period of six weeks.

Dosage: Around 15-30 minutes before any main meals (breakfast, lunch or dinner), take two capsules of Zantrex with a large glass of water (at least 8oz). Manufacturers suggest that users should take two capsules any time if they are seeking an energy boost. Do not exceed six capsules each day.

Zantrex Side Effects: Caffeine can have some pretty nasty side effects, including restlessness, irritability, nausea, trembling hands, lightheadedness and can create severe insomnia. Excessive consumption of it can also cause diarrhea, aggravate ulcers and muscle twitch. High consumers of caffeine can also create a dependency on the substance.

Precautions: As this product is caffeine based (it contains 320mg of caffeine per serving), users are advised to limit the consumption of food, drinks of medicines that contain caffeine while taking Zantrex. Over consumption of caffeine may cause users to experience nervousness, insomnia, irritability and it may also speed up your heart beat. People who are not used to taking high-energy/high-caffeine diet supplements may fell jittery when they first start taking this product. Those sensitive to these sort of stimulants should only start with one capsule twice daily, and increase the dosage as their tolerance grows.
