Freshlook is the trade name for CIBA Vision's range of coloured contact lenses, so much of their popularity rests on the company's proven track record.
Freshlook has designed its lenses to be worn for up to two weeks (with nightly removal and cleaning), before being replaced with a new pair.
This means that a user can experiment with different colours and wear them as and when it suits. Non-disposable alternatives are available in the DuraSoft range.
In both the UK and the USA prescriptions aren't needed to buy cosmetic lenses, but it's recommended that you visit an eye care professional to establish whether contact lenses are suitable for you (contacts shouldn't be worn with some eye complaints), as well as advice on fitting.
Freshlook also have a variety of coloured lenses for people who suffer from astigmatism.
The most enjoyable, and often most tricky, part of choosing coloured contacts is deciding which colour to go for. When making your decision remember that natural eye colour, hair colour and skin tone all play their part.
Although CIBA Vision (Freshlook's parent company) don't sell contact lenses directly to the public, their website allows you to electronically mix and match lens colour with skin and hair colour, as well as ordering a free trial pair online.
Over the past few years the demand for cosmetic contact lenses has ballooned, and with it the spectrum of available colours. Today lenses are available to enhance or totally change your eye colour - even if they are naturally dark.
In fact there's nothing to hold you back except your imagination. If that is running wild you could always try some novelty contact lenses.
