1. Diet
Drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins stored in fat tissue. It is best to drink four to six glasses of water daily to help fight cellulite. Avoid becoming dehydrated - once you start to feel thirsty your body is already short of fluids so don't leave it til then to fill up your glass.
Avoid excessive consumption of caffeine, alcohol, and foods high in fat or sugar.
Avoid foods high in salt and refined carbohydrates like white flour, bread and rice.
Eat plenty of fibre and wholegrain foods. Fibre is essential for helping eliminate waste products from the intestinal tract and decreasing the time it lingers in the intestines where toxins can build up.
Try to eat natural food - this means lots of nuts, seeds, fruit and vegetables and avoid foods with lots of colourings, preservatives and additives.
2. Exercise
Nothing can change and maintain the shape of your body better than exercise. Try and do at least twenty minutes every day and make it part of your daily routine. Exercise will help tone weak and saggy muscles and help circulation and will improve blood flow to cellulite-prone areas.
3. Quit smoking
Smoking can contribute to the accumulation of toxins in the body. The smoke you inhale from each cigarette is loaded with poisons and toxins. Smoking also dramatically restricts the circulation of blood, inhibiting the correct nutrition and oxygenation of the cells. If you can’t quit, try and cut down. And if you don't smoke, stay away from those that do.
4. Avoid unnecessary medication
The body is programmed to fight off minor illnesses like head aches and colds, so think twice before reaching for tablets out of habit rather than necessity. Particularly avoid diet-pills, pep-pills, sleeping pills, laxatives and diuretic pills.
5. De-stress
Make relaxation part of your daily routine and don’t let stress get on top of you. Perhaps try yoga or meditation to help deal with stress in your life.
6. Massage
Vigorous massage improves the circulation and toxins are flushed out too, but it is important to treat the whole body not just the problem areas.
