Look for quality candles that are made with pure essential oils. Avoid any products that are not labeled in this way. Also avoid any candles with wicks that are made with lead.

How long will they burn for?

That depends on the size of the candle, but as a general guide you should expect a candle of around 7oz to give you at least forty hours worth of burning time.
