The mind is a complex organ and no one really understands how it works. Psychic relates to the mind, or soul, but actually refers to a part of us that operates on an instinctual, rather than rational, level. Instinct was how the human race survived and communicated before we had language and a developed society.

There are examples of dogs who know when their owners are returning or who warn of accidents. We all have that ability, but some choose to develop it, others ignore it. If you follow someone down the street, more often than not, they will turn round. If you watch someone while they are asleep, often they will wake up. Developing psychic abilities involves working with the unconscious mind and different states of awareness.

Interest in the occult and the paranormal is on the increase although it is has always been popular since Victorian times. These days it has become so fashionable that clairvoyants or mediums are often booked months ahead. More and more, people are turning to online psychics as they are more accessible. However some people do prefer the personal touch, so go with whatever approach feels right for you.

Psychics work on intuition or instinct to help give you insight into yourself and your life. They may tell you things you know already deep down but give you a different perspective. Choosing a psychic, either online, or for a reading in person, can be a tricky business. You need to find someone you feel comfortable with, and who is right for you. This can be a question of personality or finding someone who you trust knows what they are talking about - in the same way that you need to feel comfortable with your doctor.
