Just like any other personalised number plates, Irish registrations that have fewer letters and numbers tend to be relatively more expensive than the usual ones. However, the unusual 3-letter formation of the Irish number plates still adds a special feature to your vehicle. Four random numbers usually accompany the 3-letter formation e.g. DAZ 2346. Of course, not all Irish number plates spell out a persons name, however, if they do, they tend to be more expensive.

So, when considering buying a personalised number plate, think about why you want one. It could be that you have an amazing car but the registration makes it look old and old-fashioned. If this is the case, and you simply want to hide the age of your car, then consider attaching an Irish number plate. They are perfectly legal and can cost significantly less than ones made in England.
