The Albuquerque Balloon Festival is a famous ballooning celebration that takes place annually during the month of October in New Mexico USA. The event is notorious for being a photographer's dream come true. Individuals travel from far and wide to witness sight of masses of technicoloured hot air balloons ascending into the azure sky.

The main focus of this international festival is undoubtedly the opening day mass ascension. Pilots and crew members assemble in the New Mexico desert up to two hours before the first slivers of sunshine pierce the night sky.
